Marriott International Announces Massive Expansion in India

Marriott International, which operates well-known five-star chains including JW Marriott, has announced a major expansion in India. The company will open 26 new hotels across the country, adding nearly 1,900 additional rooms to its hospitality portfolio. This strategic move aims to strengthen Marriott’s presence in India’s rapidly growing tourism and hotel market.

As part of its global expansion plan, the group is focusing on the Asia-Pacific region (excluding China). Speaking to the media, Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, said that Marriott International has partnered with Concept Hospitality and its leading brand The Fern Hotels & Resorts to launch a new collection brand in the Asia-Pacific region.

Through this collaboration, Marriott International has introduced “Series by Marriott,” a new collection brand, making its global debut in India. The brand will now form part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of more than 30 international hotel brands.

Designed for emerging domestic travelers, Series by Marriott will provide essential hospitality amenities such as modern, comfortable rooms, dependable service, and curated local experiences that highlight the uniqueness of each location. The company further revealed its plans to launch over 100 hotels under this brand in the coming years.
