India’s Road Accident Survivors to Get Cashless Medical Care, Says Gadkari

Date:

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced a groundbreaking initiative to provide cashless treatment for road accident survivors across India. This scheme aims to ensure immediate medical attention without financial constraints, potentially saving countless lives.

Under this initiative, road accident victims will receive treatment at empanelled hospitals, with the government covering medical expenses directly. This cashless system is designed to eliminate delays caused by payment processes, allowing survivors to access life-saving care promptly. Gadkari highlighted that India witnesses approximately 1.5 lakh road accident deaths annually, and this scheme is a step towards reducing fatalities.

The program is part of a larger road safety campaign, which includes measures like improving highway infrastructure, enforcing traffic regulations, and raising public awareness. The scheme also underscores the government’s commitment to improving the emergency response system in the country.

Gadkari emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors in ensuring the success of this initiative. By focusing on timely treatment and financial support, the scheme aims to transform the country’s approach to road safety and emergency care.

This initiative is a significant step towards creating a safer and more compassionate road transport system in India.
