India’s First Underwater Tunnel to be Built in Mumbai

The Maharashtra government has approved the construction of India’s first underwater tunnel in Mumbai. The 2.2-kilometer tunnel will connect the eastern and western suburbs of the city, reducing travel time by up to 30 minutes. The project, estimated to cost ₹15,000 crore, is expected to be completed by 2028. This development is a significant milestone for India’s infrastructure growth and is expected to boost economic activity in the region.
