Central to this initiative is an AI-powered, voice-enabled assistant designed to work directly inside Caterpillar machines. Built on Nvidia’s edge AI computing platform, the system allows operators to interact with equipment using natural language. Operators can ask questions, receive operational guidance, access manuals, and get real-time safety or maintenance insights without interrupting work. This hands-free approach is expected to improve productivity while reducing cognitive load and operational errors.
Beyond in-cab intelligence, Caterpillar is also leveraging AI-driven digital twins to simulate construction environments and manufacturing processes.
