A political debate has intensified in Telangana after senior leader T. Harish Rao criticised the Telangana Rising Global Summit, calling it “nothing more than a real estate expo” rather than a platform showcasing genuine global investments. Harish has demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy release a detailed white paper outlining the actual investments promised and secured during the summit.
Harish argued that many of the showcased projects appeared to be real estate-driven announcements rather than initiatives contributing to long-term industrial growth or employment generation. He questioned the government’s claims of attracting large-scale investments and urged greater transparency to ensure public trust.
The opposition leader further stated that Telangana needs clear, verified data on MoUs, project timelines, and the sectors receiving investment commitments. Without this information, he said, the summit risks being perceived as a promotional event rather than a meaningful economic platform.
Meanwhile, government officials maintain that the summit successfully brought global attention to Telangana and generated significant interest across IT, manufacturing, green energy, and infrastructure sectors. They assert that a detailed investment report will be released in due course.
The exchange highlights growing political scrutiny over investment claims and the need for clear communication on Telangana’s economic development strategy.
